After earning his retailing master’s degree from New York University and moving back to his home state of Virginia, Ellis finally settled back in the city that never sleeps to join a sportswear company. Here, he began designing womenswear, and eventually, he formed his own brand in 1978. Perry Ellis first started producing menswear, shoes, and accessories in 1985, and the company also released its eponymous first fragrance for both men and women at this time. Although the brand’s womenswear collection was discontinued following Ellis’ death in 2003, the recognition for its menswear and fragrances remains. All products are original, authentic name brands.
