What started as a small fashion company in 1976, Liz Claiborne would eventually become a billion-dollar business. The company takes its name from Anne Elisabeth Jane Claiborne, and under her leadership, the business grew into the first Fortune 500 company that was started by a woman. The other co-founders are Art Ortenberg, Leonard Boxer and Jerome Chazen. The brand sells many fashion items and accessories including clothing, shoes, fragrances and handbags.
